Science Week

Science Week has got off to a spectacular start with an amazing demonstration from Wonderstruck, who have wowed the children with a range of experiments and experiences. The children have seen (by means of a bed of nails) that pressure is dependent on the force exerted on a surface divided by the area over which that force acts. We saw and heard a noisy demonstration of how a jet engine works and also saw an explosion of Rice Krispies when added to gunpowder. The children have been undertaking follow up activities in class. Through science week there are further experiences including visits from Mrs Recycle and a vet as well as a visit to the chemistry lab at Shebbear College.
