Summary of School Data outcomes 2019

Below is a summary of the school’s performance in the 2019 statutory assessments. As Shebbear is a small school (normal class size is 10 pupils) it does mean that the percentage figures quoted need to be interpreted carefully. The difference in performance of just one pupil can, as an example, mean the school appears well above the national average or equally well below. Details of the Year 2 phonics retake assessments are not included. The numbers needing to retake the assessment were so low, there is a risk of identifying individual children. In some cases, the national data quoted is for 2018 as 2019 data is not yet available in all subjects.

Early Years

Percentage of pupils achieving a Good Level of Development at the end of Reception 60% (71% nationally)

Year 1 Phonics

Percentage of pupils meeting the expected standard in Y1 phonics screening 90% (83% nationally)
