Our school uniform is smart and attractive. We do ask that all children wear it with pride as it identifies them as part of this school. Most parents and children find that it is practical and hard-wearing. All pupils are allocated to one of our four House Groups when they join us: Astor (green), Babbage (blue), Christie (red) or Drake (yellow), and PE T-shirts in the correct house colour form part of our PE kit.
While we prefer the children to wear the branded versions of the school sweatshirts and cardigans, a suitable alternative (in the same colour) is acceptable. The same applies to the school hoodies and fleeces. We expect the children to wear the appropriate school PE t-shirt rather than alternatives.
Branded versions of the following items are available from the school office: Sweatshirt, cardigan, white polo shirt, school hoody and fleece. In addition, school bookbags and sun hats can also be purchased.
We do ask that other items purchased do match the specified colours (trousers, skirts, shoes etc). These are all freely available from high street or online retailers as well as many supermarkets.

Generally, the children wear their PE kit into school each Friday with either their hoody or school sweatshirt/cardigan. This avoids the need to change and has led to far fewer missing items of clothing. However, PE lessons will also sometimes run at other times in the week. When this is the case, PE clothes should be put into a named bag.
Please ensure that your child has suitable footwear for outdoor PE/games/sports e.g. trainers – this is a Health and Safety requirement. Remember how quickly your child’s feet grow – please ensure that trainers are replaced regularly.
Arts and crafts
For these activities, each pupil should have an apron (or an old t-shirt) to protect their school uniform.
Jewellery
For safety reasons – it is important that the children do not wear jewellery for example necklaces, rings, bracelets etc. to school.
Children who have pierced ears are only permitted to wear small stud ear-rings, which must be removed for PE. If your child is unable to remove their own earrings then please ensure they are removed before they come to school.
Children may wear watches if they wish. Jeans, jewellery, make up and nail varnish are considered to be inappropriate for school.
