Thank you for the kind donation to our school council organised fundraising day. A non-uniform day is always popular amongst both children and staff. Similarly, the cuddly toy sale proved to be a great success with lots of furry friends exchanging hands. Hopefully any gaps in the children’s collection created by their donations have been filled with their purchases! It was good to see the children thinking about what they bought and working out what they could afford.
All of the money raised (over £140 as I write) will be passed on to the Australian Bush Fire appeal being organised by the World Wildlife Fund. This will help with the ongoing care of the animals injured by the fire as well as helping people, including many farmers, rebuild their lives. It does sound like things are improving and many areas have enjoyed some ‘Shebbear rain’ which has helped them out.
