+++ Welcome to the Shebbear Community School website +++ We hope everyone had a lovely half term break +++ Do make sure that the children remain sun safe during the summer term – sun lotion, suitable hat and a water bottle +++ Good luck to our cricket players who have games coming up +++ Remember that the school is closed over the long weekend of Friday 23rd June to Monday 26th for a non-pupil and occasional day +++ Fingers crossed that the sunny weather stays until then +++

Diversity Week

We have welcomed a few different guests this week to celebrate diversity. On Monday Lynn and Christine Woodward worked with each class to teach them sign language. On Tuesday, Niki Watson brought her guide dog Quincy into school to talk to the children. Then on Wednesday, the Paralympian David Hill led a whole school sponsored fitness session (thanks for all your donations) and then talked to the children about his disability (he was born with only part of one arm) and his sporting career which has included multiple Paralympic appearances in both swimming and triathlon. His story is certainly one of triumph over adversity and he was really

inspiring, not least the importance of working hard and never giving up. I hope the children enjoyed listening to the visitors, learnt something and hopeful took some inspiration!
