Our Links with the Community
We have excellent links within the community which we continue to develop and maintain. We believe that this is such an important part of our own role within the community, indeed we are a Community school. See below for details of a few of the ways in which we achieve this:
The Little Bears Pre-School is sited within our grounds allowing a seamless transition for the younger children to move up to us from Pre-School.
A number of Senior Citizens join us for a weekly roast dinner – they are known as the ‘Threadbears’.
We collaborate with Shebbear College on a variety of occasions and opportunities such as Art Days or sporting events.
We collaborate with other local schools and also local secondary schools to ensure our pupils receive a wide range of opportunities.
Local clergy visit our school on a regular basis; our annual Carol Service alternates between St Michael’s Church and Lake Chapel.
We contribute to the village magazine ‘Reflecting Shebbear’ which produces six issues a year.
